Visiting Where He Did It
Knowing all that we can about what Jesus did of course begins with our study of the Bible. But that knowledge can be greatly multiplied by visiting the locales of the life of Jesus. Jim Wilken Ministries is planning a trip to Israel in 2012 for a group of our supporters to have the life-changing experience of visiting many of the sites that figured prominently in the life and ministry of the Lord: Bethlehem, the place of his birth; Capernaum, the center of his Galilean ministry; the hillside where he delivered the Sermon on the Mount; the Upper Room, where he instituted the Lord's Supper; Gethsemane, where he prayed; Golgotha, where he was crucified; an empty garden tomb, the glory of his Resurrection! Be sure to visit our website often for information about this once in a life-time tour.
MealsThat Heal
McDowell County NC has no few problems. For one thing, people are hungry. Literally. The thing about hunger is, it doesn't care if you are old or young, male or female, anglo or hispanic, balck or white. Pastor Ray, and the brothers and sisters at Clinchfield United Methodist Church has seen their hungry neighbors, and determined to fight hunger in our community.
When his disciples encountered a crowd of hungry folks, Jesus said to his followers,
"YOU give them something to eat." That's just what's happening on Tuesdays and Thursdays at
Meals That Heal. Food is distributed from a pantry housed at Clinchfield UMC, and all who show up hungry are fed a great big hot lunch.
Jim Wilken Ministries applauds this work, and we show up frequently to lend a hand. If you have any time between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. any Tuesday or Thursday, your hands would be most welcome as well!
